Mission & BELIEFS
OUR MISSION
The mission of Niner United is to connect students to God, to others, and to life-changing experiences so that they can live faith-filled lives.
Our Beliefs
Who We Are at Niner United
We’re a Christian campus ministry at UNC Charlotte trying to be real. We’re open to everybody. No litmus test. No pretending. We’re rooted in historic church traditions (Episcopal, Lutheran, Presbyterian, and United Methodist). But we’re not stuck in the past. We believe in grace. We believe in Jesus. We believe in showing up.
Here’s what that means:
God
God is one. Creator. Powerful. Good. God loves us without conditions and doesn’t wait for us to get our act together. God wants connection. He gets involved. Even when we’re a mess.
Jesus
Jesus is God in a body. He lived, taught, healed, and got killed for loving too well. Then he rose. That changes everything. Jesus came to start something new. Not just to save souls, but to form a new kind of community. He’s our center. Our hope. Our example.
Holy Spirit
The Spirit is God with us. Still moving. Still working. The Spirit comforts, convicts, stirs, and leads. It’s how we know God’s not finished with us yet.
The Bible
The Bible tells the truth. It’s not neat or easy. It’s the story of God and people. Struggling, growing, messing up, and finding grace. It shows us who God is and who we are.
The Church
The church is people, not a building. We belong to a global family. Together we try to live like Jesus and stand with those who suffer.
Sacraments
Baptism means you belong. Communion means Jesus feeds us and sends us. These aren’t just rituals. They shape us.
Salvation
God saves us through grace. Not effort. Not image. Just grace. But grace doesn’t leave us the same. It calls us to grow, to change, to love others the way we’ve been loved.
Sin and Forgiveness
Sin is real. It breaks things. But God forgives. We forgive too. We help each other heal and carry the weight together.
This is what we believe. We’re still learning. Still growing. Still following Jesus with open hands. If that sounds like something you want to be part of, come find us. There’s room.
